Military General Service 1793-1814, 1 clasp, Toulouse (W. Nanson, 74th Foot) edge bruise and contact marks, nearly very fine
The 74th Foot were heavily engaged at Toulouse; initially in a successful advance of 3 miles in which the enemy was put to flight, and later in a doomed attempt to storm a strongly held French position. In this attack, ordered by Sir Thomas Picton, the regiment suffered 150 killed and wounded from an initial strength of 350.
