Charles Lee Shepperd served in the Egyptian Expedition 1882 (Medal and Bronze Star); with the Nile Expedition 1884-5, for which he was mentioned in despatches London Gazette 25 August 1885, and granted the hon. rank of Captain (Clasp). He retired from the Army as Quartermaster and Honorary Major, Naval Ordnance Department, on 29 December 1908.
