France, La Providence, a group of eight identical octagonal silver jetons, dated 1838, unsigned, ASSURANCES CONTRE L’INCENDIE, reverse LA PROVIDENCE, each with bee hallmark on edge [1860-80] and 38mm (cf. Gailhouste 422) [8]. Some light scuffing, otherwise very fine or better; in original fitted maroon inscribed case (£70-90)
