R.R.C. (1st Class) London Gazette 26 August 1918: ‘In recognition of valuable services with the British Forces in Mesopotamia.’

M.I.D. London Gazette 27 August 1918: Despatch of Lieutenant-General W. R. Marshall, Commanding-in-Chief, Mesopotamian Expeditionary Force.

Miss Annie Louisa Earle was appointed a Matron in the Territorial Force Nursing Service with seniority 24 February 1909, as recorded in the London Gazette of 9 December 1910. She was Matron of the 3rd Northern General Hospital, R.A.M.C. (T.F.), which was located at Sheffield. For her services during the Great War in Mesopotamia she was mentioned in despatches and awarded the Royal Red Cross and Bar, and for her subsequent services in the same area, the General Service Medal for Iraq. She resigned her appointment as Matron in the Territorial Army Nursing service on 1 July 1924. She died at Sheffield on 5 June 1952.
