Johannes Jacobus Van Staden served with the Support Group of the 1st Battalion Rhodesian Light Infantry, and was killed in action 15 March 1974. He died from a gunshot wound received in contact in the north-eastern border area. Aged 21, he was buried at Warren Hills, Salisbury.
