Provenance: Baldwin FPL October 1938 (30); bt Baldwin June 1939.
The triumphal arch on this coin was erected by Nero between 58 and 62 to commemorate campaigns by Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo against the Parthians. Located on the slope of the Capitoline Hill, it was probably destroyed soon after Nero’s death in 68. The only known representations of the arch are those found on coinage
