Two men of the name Charles Turner received the Naval General Service Medal with clasp Trafalgar for service during the major fleet action off Cape Trafalgar between the British fleet under the command of Vice-Admiral Lord Nelson and the Franco-Spanish fleet under the command of Vice-Admiral P.C. de Villeneuve, on 21 October 1805: a Boy, Royal Marines, serving in H.M.S. Minotaur, and a Landsman serving in H.M.S. Neptune. One other man with this name appears on the Admiralty Claimants’ List, for a single clasp award for Navarino.
