Ivan Walter Woodgate was the foster son of Mary Poulton, of Halfway Firs, Corsham, Wiltshire. He served during the Great War with the Royal Marine Light Infantry, and was accidentally drowned whilst serving with H.M.S. Bellona, 7 January 1918.
