The Rifle Brigade (The Prince Consort’s Own) Officer’s Helmet Plate c. 1881-91, a fine quality example in blackened plated metal comprising an eight pointed star overlaid with a Guelphic crown laurel sprays with entwined battle honours, in the centre a Bath style cross the arms emblazoned with battle honours, a circle ‘Rifle Brigade’ and crowned strung bugle horn, bottom scroll ‘The Prince Consort’s Own’, complete with four loop fasteners, one mount pin lacking and two of the lesser star points broken otherwise good original condition £200-300
