The Border Regiment 2nd Volunteer Battalion Officer’s Helmet Plate c. 1883-1901, a scarce example in silver plate, the crowned eight pointed star back plate with large laurel overlays these enclose a Bath style cross itself resting on further laurel sprays, in the centre of the cross the Garter motto enclosing a silver Dragon of China on a ground of white over red enamel, at the bottom a scroll ‘The Border Regt.’ and a further scroll ‘2nd Volunteer Battalion’, complete with three loop fasteners, both enamels with some damage otherwise very good condition £340-400
