An enamelled bangle, by Frey Wille, from the collection ‘Hommage à Hunderstwasser’, with sprung fastener to the front, enamelled with a row of colourful houses, stamped to the inside with maker’s name, gilt metal, with original box and papers, inner diameter 6.5cm. £100-150
The design is after the work of the Austrian artist, architect and philosopher Friedensreich Hundertwasser (1928-2000). Born in Vienna, as Friedrich Stowasser, he gained acclaim for his unique architectural style. He changed his name in 1949 to Friedensreich Hundertwasser, which means ‘Peace-Kingdom Hundred Water’. Images of his works have been used for flags, stamps, coins, posters, schools and churches.
