Framlingham College, originally named the Albert Memorial College in memory of Prince Albert, was founded in 1864 by public subscription under the patronage of Sir Edward Clarence Kerrison, 2nd Bt (1821-86), Conservative MP for Eye. The College opened in April 1865 and was built to accommodate 300 boys
