Pair: Second Lieutenant T. H. Rowson, London Regiment, killed in action on the Western Front, 15 September 1916

Tom Hollingworth Rowson was born in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, in 1889, and was commissioned from the Artist Rifles Officers Training Corps as a Second Lieutenant in the London Regiment on 9 January 1916. He served with the 19th (St. Pancras) Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 16 June 1916, and was killed in action on 15 September 1916, during the attack on High Wood, in which the Battalion suffered 10 Officers and 66 other ranks killed, and 2
Officers and 211 other ranks wounded. He is buried in the London Cemetery, Longueval, France.

Sold together with copies of the Battalion War Diaries for the period, and a photographic image of the recipient.
