Thomas Robertson, Shipmaster (R.H.S. Case 19822), for a rescue in the Gulf of Mexico.
John McVean, Joiner (R.H.S. Case 29293). ‘On the 22nd December 1897, James M'Que, a labourer, who was engaged in the erection of a new bridge over the Leven at Bonhill, Dumbartonshire, accidentally fell into the river. McVean, who was a quarter of a mile distant, plunged in and rescued him in an exhausted state.’
