Frank Taylor served in the ranks of the Lincolnshire Regiment and received the L.S. & G.C. medal as a Colour-Sergeant in April 1907. He was commissioned as Hon. Lieutenant and Quartermaster on 10 March 1915, and served with the 8th (Service) Battalion, The Lincolnshire Regiment, in France and Flanders from 10 September 1915 until the end of the war. He held ‘Temporary’ wartime commissions as Lieutenant and later Captain, and afterwards reverted to the ranks.
