Anthony Geoffrey Strutt was born in January 1913, and was educated at Winchester College. He was commissioned into the Royal Air Force, 6 January 1933. Strutt advanced to Temporary Squadron Leader in January 1940, and to Squadron Leader 1 June 1943. He retired as Wing Commander, 17 January 1961. Strutt was a Fellow of the British Interplanetary Society and a Fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society.
