Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 4 clasps, Laing’s Nek, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, South Africa 1902 (1458 Resdr. Ali Akbar Khan, 4th Bombay Cvlry.) very fine and scarce £120-140

Ali Akbar Khan was first commissioned in March 1895 and attained the rank of Ressaider with the 4th Bombay Cavalry in May 1900. The regiment was redesignated the 34th Prince Albert Victor’s Own Poona Horse in 1903. With them he became Woordie-Major in December 1904 and attained the rank of Risaldar in January 1909. The Indian Army List shows him as having served in South Africa in 1902 and entitled to ‘Medal and Clasp’, probably the last clasp only.
