A Fine Pair of Caucasian or Russian Armguards, of steel, comprising, defence for outer forearm and two smaller inner plates, all joined with riveted mail, all plates having fluted bands, the edges finely chiselled with scrolls and retaining the original buckles, early 19th Century, good condition (2) £250-300

For an almost identical pair see Miller, Caucasian Arms From The State Hermitage Museum, St Petersburg. These thought to be made at Tula for an officer of the Life Guard Mountain Squadron.
