Honourable East India Company, Bengal Presidency two further very rare commissions to Henry Imlach, the first issued under the Governor Generalship of the Earl of Minto and appointing Imlach to be a Lieutenant-Colonel of Infantry as from 1st June 1813 both on the Bengal Establishment and in the Army, issued at Fort William 21st August 1813 and signed by Minto, Lieut-General Sir George Nugent, Bart C-in-C and Consellors NB Edmonstone and Archibald Seton; the second one issued by Sir George Nugent further appoints Imlack to be a Lieutenant Colonel in the ‘King’s Army in the East Indies only’ as from 1st June 1813 and issued 9th September 1813, signed by Nugent, the first one bears the paper seal of the HEIC,very good condition for age (2) £200-300
Henry Imlach born Scotland 31 May 1760 son of the Rev Alexander Imlach, minister of Murroes, Forfarshire and his wife Susan Ogilvy, commissioned Ensign 12 April 1781, as Captain Lieutenant he saw service with 1st/14th Bengal Native Infantry, later Colonel 54th Bengal NI and Military Auditor General for Bengal, he had a natural daughter Susan who married one Patrick Ogilvy Carnegy, Imlach died at Calcutta 8 March 1830
