Arthur Stanley Glover was born in 1888, and gained a degree of B.Sc. from Durham University in 1912. He was commissioned into the Royal Engineers in August 1915 and served in France and Flanders during the Great War. He relinquished his commission in June 1921 and subsequently worked as a Surveyor with Durham County Council, becoming County Surveyor and Bridge Master of Westmorland in 1931. He was appointed Deputy Lieutenant for Westmorland in September 1955, but died shortly afterwards on 12 November 1955. Sold with further research including some original documents.
