Crump 1945’, last in case of issue, with identity bracelet, nearly extremely fine (6) £300-£400

M.B.E. London Gazette 1 February 1945 (originally recommended for an O.B.E.):

‘Major E. N. Crump has been DAA & QMG of 34 Tk Bde since 30 Nov 43. His efficiency, energy and drive have been quite outstanding. In the period of preparation for assault on NW Europe he worked extremely long hours every day with the result that the Bde left England complete in every detail. Since the Bde has been employed in active operations its administration has worked with complete smoothness and efficiency which is almost entirely attributable to the policy initiated by this officer and to his supervision of that policy. The Bde has been continually switched between three different Divisions and Major Crump has administered the Bde from a Rear HQ, often several miles away from the Bde Comd. with calm confidence. As in England, his hours of work have been very long but this has meant nothing to him and as a Staff Offr. he is worthy of the highest praise.

United States of America, Bronze Star
London Gazette 30 May 1946.

Edgar Norman Crump was commissioned for an O.C.T.U. to be Second Lieutenant in the Royal Tank Regiment in April 1941. He served as Temporary Major and Deputy Assistant Adjutant and Quarter Master General of the 34th Tank Brigade from November 1943, and into North West Europe.
