Crimea 1854-56, 4 clasps, Alma, Balaklava, Inkermann, Sebastopol (John Fenton, 13th Light Dragoons) regimentally impressed naming; Turkish Crimea, British issue, unnamed; French Medaille Militaire, silver, gilt and enamel, suspension re-fixed on the first, contact marks, nearly very fine (3) £2000-2500

Ex Payne collection 1911 and Needes collection 1913. Sold at Glendining’s in May 1916 and November 1962.

The citation for the French Medaille Militaire stated: “Served the Eastern Campaign, including the affairs of Bouljanak and Mackenzie’s Farm, battles of the Alma, Balaklava and Inkermann, siege of Sebastopol and Expedition to Eupatoria.”
