Richard Wood, of Sheerness, Kent, attested for the Royal Fusiliers and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front. He was killed in action on 13 April 1918, aged 37. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Ploegstreet Memorial, Belgium.
