1st Regiment of Foot Guards Officer’s Copper Gilt & Silver Gorget, a superb and rare example correctly constructed on a wire frame, the perimeter with reeded detail, to the centre in silver the Royal Arms of Great Britain 1801-1814 are pinned through, original chamois liner present but detached, approx. height 11.4cm width 8.5cm, very fine £1,000-£1,500
This pattern was worn by the Coldtream Guards 1801-14. It was later adopted by the 1st Foot Guards and 3rd Foot Guards and worn 1810-14.
