Wilfrid Henry Luck joined the Indian Police Department on 11 July 1887, as Inspector of Police, Bombay. He was appointed Assistant Superintendent in November 1895, Superintendent in April 1901, and Principal of the Police Training School in March 1911. His final appointment was as Deputy Inspector-General of Police for Sind in March 1915, a position which he held until his retirement in May 1921.
