William Murphy was born in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin and enlisted at Dublin. Serving with the 5th Battalion Connaught Rangers, he was killed in action, France / Flanders, 29.7.1918, aged 26 years. He was buried at Godewaersvelde Cemetery in Northern France.
