Sold with card box of issue for the two Second World War medals, addressed to ‘Lt. G. H. Day’ of Park Road, Southend-on-Sea. During the Great War, Day served as a Sergeant in the 6th Battalion Bedfordshire and the 8th Battalion Essex Regiments, and later as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 4th Battalion Suffolks. He entered the French theatre of war on 31 July 1916. Day was a Lieutenant in the Pioneer Corps during the Second War.
