51st (Paget’s Horse) Company Imperial Yeomanry.
Gerrard Gunnell was born in the Parish of Croydon, Surrey. A solicitor by profession, he attested for the Imperial Yeomanry on 25 February 1901. He served with the 51st (Paget’s Horse) Company, 12th Battalion Imperial Yeomanry in South Africa between 12 March 1901 and 4 August 1902. Returning to his profession after his military service, he was declared bankrupt in 1910 and in 1914 he was struck off and convicted for obtaining money by false pretences. Sold with copied services papers and other research.
