William Puckridge was born in the Parish of Mile End, London. A labourer by trade, he attested for service with the Devonshire Regiment on 5 March 1889. Transferred to the Reserve in 1897, he was recalled in 1899. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Devonshire Regiment in South Africa he was severely wounded at Colenso, 15 December 1899. He was discharged on 4 March 1902. Sold with copied service papers.
