Frank Smith was born in Greenwich, Kent and living at Benfleet, Essex, he enlisted at Southend-on-Sea. Serving initally with the 21st Lancers and then with the 9th Battalion Rifle Brigade, he was killed in action, France / Flanders, 30 July 1915. having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Menin Gate. Sold with some details and a copied photograph.
