Queen’s South Africa 1899-1902, 6 clasps, Relief of Kimberley, Paardeberg, Driefontein, Johannesburg, Diamond Hill, Wittebergen (5136 Pte. J. Gibney, Rl. Dublin Fus.) official correction to rank and initial, otherwise very fine and scarce £200-250

Confirmed on the roll of the Royal Dublin Fusiliers Mounted Infantry Company which comprised 2 officers and 36 other ranks, 23 of whom received 6 clasps.

James Gibney was born in the Parish of St Michaels, Dublin, and enlisted into the Royal Dublin Fusiliers at Dublin on 10 July 1894, aged 18 years 3 months. He served with the Mounted Infantry in South Africa from 11 November 1899 until 25 September 1902. He was discharged on 9 July 1906. Sold with copy discharged papers and medal verification.
