Frederick Churchill was born in St. Petersburg Place, London, W2 on 7 January 1843 and educated at Brighton, St. Thomas’s Hospital and Edinburgh University. From the latter he gained in 1867 the degrees M.B., C.M. and L.M. and became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons (of England). In 1871 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (of England) and gained the M.D. with Honours from the University of Edinburgh and St. Thomas’s in 1873. Churchill held the posts of Surgical Registrar at St. Thomas’s Hospital; Resident Surgeon General Lying-in Hospital; and latterly Surgeon at the Victoria Hospital for Children. Awarded the Queen’s Jubilee Medal in 1897, Churchill was the author of several medical papers. Sold with copied biographical details.
