Hugh Francis Davies was born in Rhyl and enlisted at Wrexham. Serving with the 2nd Battalion Royal Welsh Fusiliers, attached to the 173rd Tunnelling Company, Royal Engineers, he died of wounds, France / Flanders, 26 March 1918, aged 21 years. He was buried in Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France.
