Philip Jones was born on 29 July 1961 and enlisted at Liverpool on 16 May 1978. He served throughout his Army career with the Royal Corps of Transport; serving in Cyprus in 1984, Northern Ireland in 1986 and in Kuwait during 1990-91. Jones was discharged with an excellent testimonial on 19 December 1991.
