Christian Tindall was born in 1878 and was educated at Malvern College and Corpus Christi, Oxford. He entered the Bengal Civil Service in 1901, and was appointed Under-Secretary to the Government Revenue Department in East Bengal and Assam in 1906; a District and Sessions Judge in 1915; and latterly served as Secretary to the Government of Bengal. He retired in 1926, and died in 1951.
