Edgar Cooling was born in Derby and attested there for the King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He served with the 1st Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 13 August 1914, and died of wounds on 1 January 1918. He is buried in Grevillers British Cemetery, France.
