When the mintname is off the flan, fractional denominations of this type from Kalkata cannot generally be distinguished from those of Murshidabad. This coin could therefore be an EIC issue of Kalkata, or more likely an issue of the Nawabs of Bengal from Murshidabad.

In the name of ‘Alamgir II, not Shah ‘Alam II; the Stevens number in the printed catalogue is incorrect
