17th Century Tokens, YORKSHIRE, Pontefract, Isabell Oats, Farthing, 1649, 1.10g/6h (N –; BW. 267). About very fine, extremely rare
£400-£500
The earliest dated Yorkshire 17th century token; no example was present in the Hird collection. The obverse utilises one of David Ramage’s castle punches, doubtless redolent of the town’s castle, besieged three times prior to 24 March 1648/9
