Kings of Kent, Baldred (c. 823-5), Penny, Canterbury, Wærheard, bealdred rex + around cross pattée, rev. perheard + around device of five limbs, 1.30g/2h (Naismith –; BMC –; N –; S 880). Small edge chip at 12 o’clock, and the flan slightly wavy, otherwise good very fine; unlisted in the standard references and seemingly UNIQUE £3,000-£4,000
