Frederick Burrow was born in Devonport and attested for the Hampshire Regiment at Portsmouth. He served with the 15th Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 1916, was advanced Corporal, and was awarded the Military Medal. He was killed in action on 1 August 1918, and is buried in Wytschaete Military Cemetery, Belgium.
