Buckinghamshire, Slough, William Till, Proof Halfpenny, 1794, in silver, arms of the Till family, rev. lion rampant to left, edge plain, 13.09g/6h (DH 22; Preston-Morley 1040). Minor scuffing, otherwise about extremely fine and toned, very rare (£150-200)

William Till (†April 1844), coin dealer at 17 Great Russell street, Covent Garden, London; the Slough tokens made for him by W.J. Taylor,
c.1839, commemorate his father, also William, who was a wine and spirit merchant and the proprietor of the Red Lion Inn, formerly located on the north side of the Great West road near the corner of Stoke Poges lane, now the Brunel bus station in Slough
