William III (1694-1702), Halfcrown, 1701, elephant and castle below bust, edge decimo tertio (ESC 566; S 3495). Flan flaw on neck, fine, the elephant and castle well struck and clear, extremely rare (£2,000-2,500)
Better than the Lord Hamilton specimen (Spink Auction 3, 21 February 1979, lot 223) and comparable to the H.E. Manville specimen (Spink Auction 9, 4 June 1980, lot 142)
