1914 Star (No. 946 Sepoy Amar Singh, 41/Dogras.) good very fine £70-£90
Amar Singh attested for the 41st Dogras and served with them during the Great War on the Western Front as part of the Bareilly Brigade, Meerut Division. He was killed in action on 22 December 1914- the Battalion War Diary entry for the day states: ‘Battalion while moving up in the column of route along Rue de Bois towards front line of trenches came under heavy shell fire. Casualties 16 men, a result of 2 shells hitting III and IV D.C.s’. He is commemorated on the Neuve Chapelle Memorial, France.
