George Verrall served during the Great War on the Western Front with “A” Company, 22nd (County of London) Battalion, the London Regiment, and was killed in action on 30 December 1916. He is buried at Railway Dugouts Burial Ground (Transport Farm), Belgium.
Sold with a Second War pair of medals comprising Defence and War Medals 1939-45, unnamed as issued but accompanied by medal issue slip in the form of a letter from Army Headquarters, Adjutant General’s Branch, New Delhi, dated 10 April 1950, and addressed to Mr. G. E. Verrall, c/o The Borneo Company Ltd., Mercantile Bank Bldgs. Singapore.
