John Priest was commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the Royal Artillery Drivers on 13 July 1805, and promoted 1st Lieutenant & Commissary on 1 January 1806. He served in Portugal and Spain in 1808 and 1809, and was present at the battle of Corunna, for which he received the War Medal and one clasp. He died on 18 February 1860.
