Christopher Horder joined the Royal Marines in 1964 and served as a Signaller with the Aden Protectorate Levies from 1966 to 1967. He saw further service as a Ground Radio operator with the Commando Air Squadron from 1969 until 1971; and as a Paratrooper at R.A.F. Abingdon in 1971. He was discharged with the rank of Corporal in 1974.
