Joseph Sherlock attested for the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment and served with the 2nd Battalion during the Great War on the Western Front from 8 September 1914. He is noted on the medal index card and the roll for the 1914 Star as having been taken Prisoner of War.
