Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., narrow suspension (Fredk. Burroughs, Dom. 1st Cl. H.M.S. Northumberland.) impressed naming, with official corrections, extremely fine £70-£90

Frederick Burroughs was born in Salisbury, Wiltshire, in November 1853. He joined the Royal Navy as a Domestic 1st Class in September 1876, and subsequent service included with H.M.S. Northumberland from April 1888 until May 1890 (awarded L.S. & G.C. in January 1891. Burroughs advanced to Admiral’s Chief Cabin Cook, and served with the Admiralty Yacht H.M.S. Enchantress between November 1897 and August 1912. He was shore pensioned on the latter date.
