In his subsequent career of 23 years, his sole experience of active service was aboard H.M.S. Highflyer during the Second China War 1857-60, when he won entitlement to a no clasp Medal. Bath, who was awarded his L.S. & G.C. Medal in May 1877, was pensioned ashore in July 1880.
