The London Salvage Corps Long & Efficient Service Medal was instituted in 1909 and awarded to officers and salvagemen for 15 years exemplary service. At a parade on 26 July 1909, shortly after it was instituted, 27 members of the Corps were awarded the medal. By the time the Corps ceased operations in 1984, some 165 medals had been awarded.
